Columbus was a man on a mission looking for freedom for his people. He took largely convicts and with funding set sail, ultimately, establishing what would become America despite obstacles. Columbus did not concern himself with what the peoples religion was that set sail with him. Some in Europe may have wanted to wait on Jesus. But, when Almighty God commissions a man to act, there is no waiting on anyone necessary. If not for the guts of Columbus and the brave and courageous followers, America would not exist as the great power it is today. Black Americans are now given the opportunity to leave America to Africa. Some muslims want to wait on a spaceship to descend from the clouds and take them somewhere. Some Christians want to wait on Jesus, a holy man deceased now for 2000 years. Either way...both groups are grossly mistaken and will probably die in their folly leaving their children to make sense out of their ignorance. It is the mission of Abraham to depart America with Black Americans prepared to upgrade choice countries in Africa in exchange for land we can call our own. We will not wait on any hokus pokus, abra cadabra or houdini tricks....Much like Columbus, we will leave America as a group and land in Africa as a group because it is God's Will. Below is an article from USA Today written by Anne Godlasky in October 2009:
IN 1492 ... COLUMBUS SAILED THE OCEAN...TO STOP MUSLIMS AND JEWS?
As many Americans celebrate Columbus Day, The Boston Globe has an interesting opinion piece by James Carroll about a side of the voyager that gets overshadowed by talk of Indies trade: his Christian faith.
According to historians, Christopher Columbus was "deeply religious" and believed it was divine will that he sail west.
He wrote in his journals:
"Your Highnesses, as Catholic Christians and Princes devoted to the Holy Christian Faith and the propagation thereof, and enemies of the sect of Mahomet and of all idolatries and heresies, resolved to send me, Christopher Columbus, to the said regions of India, to see the said princes and peoples and lands and the disposition of them and of all, and the manner in which may be undertaken their conversion to our Holy Faith ..."
Columbus addresses the Spanish Inquisition, too, which, of course, was going on at the time: "having expelled all the Jews from all your kingdoms and dominions ... Your Highnesses commanded me that I should go to the said parts of India," he wrote.
Carroll also quotes Columbus writing to "Your Highnesses" that "all the gain of this my Enterprise should be spent in the conquest of Jerusalem," arguing that his primary motivation may not have been riches, but instead ending Islam's hold on the Holy Land. Caroll writes:
[Columbus] believed that the final restoration of the Holy Land to Christian dominion would usher in the Messianic Age ... An apocalyptic impulse informed the New World project at its birth; the project assumed hostility to Islam; and its ultimate purpose involved Jerusalem. Those three facts remain pillars of the American problem today.
With that said, I ask the following questions:
1. Does you think Columbus' possible motivation and his subsequent role in spreading Christianity impact people's feelings about the holiday?
2. Do you think a line can be drawn between Columbus and Manifest Destiny/American "imperialism" centuries later?

That really is the point, Earl, because we cannot get into the mind of Christopher Columbus but what we do know is the intentions of almighty God..because that is what happened. A man set out and took criminals from Europe and set up the most powerful nation on earth. Columbus set out..........and America was established.....Sure there are the stories of the Portuguese. But, from 1492 from 2010 is 518 years later and now here we are Abraham will set out.....and establish homeland in Africa.....That can't be that difficult to comprehend.
God has been around and will come around. Columbus could have gotten killed in the high seas and we would be talking a differant story. There could have been mutiny on the bounty and changed history. Or Columbus could have been stricken with disease. But, that did not happen. What did happen is that Columbus was a smart navigator.
In the waters off the coast of Africa and the nearby Canary Islands Columbus first observed the ocean phenomenon known as the Canaries Current. Knowledge of this fast-moving current running west of the Canary Islands could well have been the reason that Columbus later chose to start his crossing of the Atlantic in the latitude of the Canaries, far south of Spain or Portugal.
It takes a skilled person to get back across the Atlantic to Africa. This is why almighty God chose an engineer and not a fool that just like to talk the irrelevant. It always takes a man to make change and transition of nations to occur. Never does a deity figure come and say abra cadabra and a kingdom appears. That is just plain stupid. Nor does a vehicle descend from the clouds and people board to a kingdom. Black Americans cannot stay on the bottom of civilization with that rediculous thinking. That is why we have the history of Christopher Columbus to refer.

Absolutely, Earl....God uses man at His will. God wanted a great power to come out of the WEST. For "that" to happen it took the back of black slaves. Thanks to Columbus and his people having guts for freedom of persecution. Now, we prepare to leave for Africa for freedom, justice and equality for our people.

navigation had nothing to do with columbus, he had been trained by the moors.
there was no other route to spices, sugar and trade with africa, asia or the pacific rim----The Muslims were dominate in Eastern Europe--Uthmania(Ottoman) and the Mediterranean and Africa---
this silliness of bad navigator is paganChristian diversion...he knew what he was doing.
the paganPope-who crucified science and the universe(galileo) named them indians, not colombus- columbus was then crucified by his own-when he tried to give some truth to ignorance.
and little glorifies them?---

The lesson of Columbus is in its simplicity. Columbus left Europe by 3 ships: The names "Niña ", "Pinta" and "Santa Maria", are currently applied to the ships of Columbus' first voyage in 1492. On October 12, 1492, a lookout aboard the Pinta was first to sight land, an island in the Bahamas. As there were no developed harbors, the ships sent small boats to the beach. Columbus himself was aboard the Santa Maria and was aboard the first boat ashore.
This blog is about how Man took Europeans to establish land in a distant Land and DID IT. NOW 500 YEARS LATER: AMERICA is the most powerful nation on earth. That is the lesson.

Who can dismiss the deed of Christopher Columbus but a fool. Columbus was a great man, he risked his life and sailed a mighty ocean to reach the lands in the western hemisphere. He did not drown in the sea. So I give the man credit. That is what wisdom does for man and woman, it lets you know when greatness occurs in history.
