ENRICHMENTS FROM THE WORD
PUT TO DEATH:
"Will you marry me?"
It is a new life to live when you put to death your earthly nature, and things that are impurities of the flesh. It is a new life! To walk in ways of God. To learn of the Heavenly Father and to view new living in the Spirit. To put to death thoughts that are immoral, or words that uses profanity and ways that once kept you from living really free. Put to death old things that were burying you, old emotions of weary, grief, sadness, depression and things of a dark heart. A heart dying with anger, hatred, envy and evil hard-heartedness that left you cold and waxed with wicked ways doing wicked things. Put to death all other ugly things that seemed to drown you in mud. Become a bride of new a life. Put to death all these old things knowing Christ was put to death to forgive you.
Put to death, therefore whatever belongs to your earthly nature:
s*xual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed which is idolatry.
Because of these the wrath of God is coming.
You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.
But now you must rid yourselves of such things as these:
anger, rage, malice, slander and filthy language for your lips.
Do not lie to each other, since you have put on a new self,
which is being rewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncirumcised, barbarian, Scythian,
slave or free, but
Christ is all, and is in all.
