Should I listen to your opinion? (3168 hits)

“Words of the wise…should be heard.” Ecc 9:17 NKJV

One day King Zedekiah said to the prophet Jeremiah, “I will ask you something. Hide nothing from me” (Jer 38:14 NKJV). Zedekiah displayed wisdom we all need to display at some point.

1. We need to give our inner circle the permission to speak their heart to us. - Those who have our best interest at heart should be able to ask us the hard questions and give their opinion even when they disagree with our decisions. I don’t ever want to make a mistake, then hear a friend or team member say, ‘I thought that was going to be a bad decision" but I didn't want to say anything. I want to hear from people on the front end, not after it’s too late for their feedback to help.

(No matter what the imput we recognize the leader "owns" the final decision; a clear and tested Word or Instruction from God needs no vote or opinion!)

2. Vigorous Debate and Intense support on the final Decision - Pushback before a decision is made is never disloyalty. If all is quiet when decisions are being considered, it probably won’t be quiet after it plays out. Vigorous debate can be healthy as long as once the final decision is made support is given.” Sir Francis Bacon observed, “If a person will begin with certainties, he will end in doubts; but if he will be content to begin with doubts, he will end in certainties.

3. Safety in a multitude of Counsel -” Job said, “Men listened to me and waited, and kept silent for my counsel” (Job 29:21 NKJV). We must constantly ask ourselves: What is my attitude about feedback? Do I get the best input possible? Seeking wise counsel is a great attribute of leadership...Remember it may not always be wise to seek or obey the counsel of those who are not interested in your success!

I remain interested in your valuable imput; don't hold back...You may be holding important information needed to win the Kingdom Championship...I'm all Ears!

Much JOY

to your God-given purpose, then your
ability to create a meaningful impact in any
area of your life and the lives of others is in
danger.” “You can’t work for the kingdom
and be out of place – finding your place called
“there” is not a destination, but a journey.”
