The Queen's Chair: Things I Wish My Children Would Say To Me (241 hits)

I got up this morning, woke up kids, and went to the bathroom. When I got there, you know what I found...an empty toilet paper dispenser. A child took out toilet paper the night before and left it on the sink. I rolled my eyes.

My teenager then came in the bathroom and asked me whi I didn't get her up early. Quickly, I reminded her that it's HER job to set her alarm clock to wake up in the morning for school. I also reminded her that when she goes away to college; I won't be with her. She then to a look at the toilet paper sitting on the sink and gave me a funny look. A look that said, 'Aren't you putting that on the roll?'

After she left, I thought about all the stuff that I do that gets taken for granted. I thought about running away from home...lolol. I laugh because I know my kids would find me because who else is going to make dinner. And then I daydreamed for a minute about the things I wish they would say to me. Here's my list:

Relax mom, I'll prune the roses bushes.

Mom, I just finished cleaning my room.

Sit down mom, I'll cook dinner.

Thanks for the wonderful meal.

Mom, let me get you something to drink.

I just took out the trash anything else you'd like me to do.

No, let me wipe up the spill. I did make the mess.

I'm going to the supermarket, can I get you something?

Mom, I'll scrub the kitchen floor.

You look tired. Go take a nap and I'll get the clothes done.

Here's a $100 dollars...enjoy your hair appointment.

I just finished my homework. Would you like to check it?

I can dream, can't I? I know I'll probably never hear those words. However, a mommy can pretend. (wink)

I'm thinking about teaching a new class to my family later today. I'm going to show them how to put toilet paper on the dispenser so I don't have to. I'm not the only who lives here. What do you think?
