As an individual, many African Americans can claim, they have won. Even as a Group which is defined as a number of persons or things gathered closely together and forming a recognizable unit. To WIN an Individual must be able to survive and grow. Black Americans "win" as a group. Across America, programs are setup to assist their people with as array of problems including rehabilitation, mentoring, counseling and financial services. Religion and social networks have also been instrumental at strengthening the group. To Grow there is HBCUs which allows black Americans with ambition and motivation to excel, to learn necessary skills to sustain themselves and help others. Then there is the Community where Black Americans are complete failures. Even as a Nation, Black Americans fail. There are many reasons why but, first, lets here what your thoughts are. Check out my book: 21st Century Vision for Black America....www.trafford.com/06-2972

Hello Jamal, Before I could give you my thoughts would you please clarify what is the difference of an African American and a Black American, since you use both terms interchangeably in your blog, okay. I want to know so that I would be on the same page as you are if you believe an African-American is the same as a Black American. I am not as smart as you are. Remember that I have an IQ of 68. I am practically retarded. Therefore, I would like to know from you that when I look at a Nigerian African am I looking at a Black American as well. Please give me your answer so I can give you my thoughts of your blog or take the opportunity to correct yourself now, okay. Tell me what you think.

Irma, the here and now is important. In it, if you have found total satisfaction and happiness, sure, forget about the future. However, if "holes" exists in the state of existence a person currently is living...then there is reason for wanting a future. To seal the holes.

Jamal - my first thought is: Isn't the group part of the community? If the community is losing, the group is losing as well

Irma, an individual exists as a single person. Forget about anyone else. As such, some African Americans have grown to be quite successful. There are AFrican Americans that have become millionaires and live very comfortable lives with fine homes, cars and bank accounts. They have grown their individual families and mimic the American dream.

Hello Jamal, You said this, “As an individual, many African Americans can claim, they have won.” You also said this, “Then there is the Community where Black Americans are complete failures” I do not know if you realize that the question I am asking you is coming out of your blog that you should advise me to stick with the blog. Now, are the individual African-Americans that could claim they have won are the same Black Americans that are complete failures? If I am asking to difficult of a question for you to answer, I do not necessarily have to comment on your blog, okay. I am a person that says what I mean and mean what I say. I am very particular that what I have in my mind is put out precisely as I have first organized it in my mind. Again, if what I am asking you is too difficult for you to clarify then I will not stress you. I do not know whether you are talking about Black Americans or African-Americans. You could be talking about two different people. Ms. Judah seems to be as confused as I am based on the question that she has asked you to clarify. She is assuming that the group and the community are the same. I do not want to take it for granted what you mean. Therefore, I am giving you the opportunity to correct yourself. For instance, the African-Americans seem to be the (group) you are referencing that could claim they have won. On the other hand, the (community) you are talking about seems to be Black Americans that are complete failures. Therefore, I am asking you is this a group of African Americans the same community of Black Americans since one could claim they have one while the other are complete failures. What exactly are you asking our thoughts on? Are our thoughts to be on African-Americans or Black Americans?

Good point bro. Jecoliah.........since a community is group of people "living" together as a smaller social unit within a larger one having common interest and work, there is a major problem. By definition, A black community may possibly survive but it cannot grow since it depends on the larger white community for its key necessities. A black community would need grocery stores, educational services and medical services to grow. For a black community to excel they would need to be in control of protection services to handle crime. The black community in America needs the 911 protection from the larger white community. How many African Americans have died waiting on protection services from white authority only to arrive way too late. An expected mother needs to go to medical services outside of the black community for her pregnancy needs. Since an African American community is unable to take care of itself, we find the deplorable conditions prevalent in black communities. An African American community would need be able to provide for its own elderly with hospice and senior living accommodations. It is in this sense, that the African American community has failed.

You are absolutely right... After being freed from slavery, we had no resources and no support The white community was already established and it "appeared" as if they had everything we needed We fought and died to have access to their shops, schools, hospitals, etc. We need our own EVERYTHING Not out of hate to cause separation and division, but out of necessity for the survival and advancement of Our People

Sorry, Sis. Jecoliah....I was more affixed on the name Judah with the image of a LION coming into my head then.. on the flower. Thanks for correcting me. Exactly, hate should not be figured into the equation, but out of necessity we need our own everything. Many blacks in America prefer to ditch the idea of the community and consider blacks only as a group. Using their people only as a convenience, though, interested in basically only themselves. That is when we lose, because the black community demands more from the individuals making up the group.

Harry, I have problems with the name African Americans and Black Americans. Africa denotes a name given by a European to the people of Africa. Black refers to dark color, though some of my people are light skinned and yet still in the group of Black Americans. The purpose of this blog is not to get hung up on symantics otherwise I would have to use the term original Asiatic people who are children of American slaves. In the mean time, when I use the term African Americans or Black Americans, they are one and the same for purpose of communicating with the masses of my people. If you have a problem with communicating with a person...then go to another blog.

Irma, in this blog, it is not about Africa....only about the blacks living as an individual, a group or a community. Try sticking with "that". Perhaps if you get your reading skills enhanced, you would be less confused. The only person that mentioned Africa is YOU.

Irma, you are NOT totally nuts, but a mature intelligent woman. Think of life as being thrown in a river. It is one thing to tread water to remain afloat. Then it is another to swim an go where you want. Most African Americans are trying to survive meaning to remain afloat.

Irma, for a person to think as an individual, is selfish. So I use the word CLAIM if they manage to excel to greatness. Though a person may seem to have "WON" if they become a millionaire, how many brothers and sisters did they have to shun and ignore to reach stardom and fame. They may find themselves unhappy in the long run as a result. If you are looking for how this ties in to the big picture, Irma on my divine mission of transitioning African Americans from America to Africa, then you should ASK . Since you obviously DO NOT KNOW.

Hello Jamal, Okay, I see you have corrected yourself and that is good. I have asked you are the terms African American and Black Americans on in the same. Since it had appeared to me that, you did not know the difference between the two terms and was using them as one in the same. However, you have corrected yourself when you said this, “when I use the term African Americans or Black Americans, they are one and the same” An African-American and a Black American are not one in the same person. An African-American is a person of African origin. For instance, the Nigerian community living in Houston, Texas is African Americans. They are Africans because of African origin and they are Americans because they have become citizens. On the other hand, a Black American is understood to be a descendent of slaves. Black Americans are a made people on this continent when White people mostly of British descent bred themselves with the African slave people they purchased from the slave traders over a period of 350 years. A Black American is the livestock property of White Americans while African Americans are not the property of White Americans since African-Americans were never slaves. What I have just explained has nothing to do with Asiatic people whatever that means. Now, I do not have to communicate on this blog. I am looking for civility, common sense, straightforwardness and honesty. If there is none of these qualities on this blog shared by all the people participating then I who appreciate these qualities naturally become a troublemaker to those that does not have these qualities to share, am I right. I am not looking for fight from any of you. I know the mental difficulties that we have communicating and loving each other. I know our personalities towards each other are very screwed up. We hate to be corrected by each other but we will quit accept corrections from White people. That is a result of the stress that slavery had on our ancestors that was passed down to us. It needs to be corrected. So with that said I will just leave this blog along.

Harry, only a 100 years ago they called us Ni_gas, coons, Negroes and spooks. So to be referred to as Black Americans or African Americans is a plus. Obviously, you just want to argue then deal with the blog...SO yes, if you cannot contribute to this blog, stay the HELL off. As as ASIATIC..., with an IQ of 68, I would not expect you to know what that refers to. But, there was a time when the entire land mass of Earth was considered ASIA, prior to the splitting up of the continents.

Irma, one of My uncles, a doctor that practiced in the city of Detroit for years when it was unpopular to be an African American doctor became a millionaire and would give some of us relatives of his only $20 when we graduated from high school or college. He is now deceased and not wanting to bad mouth him but he seemed to many of us only to really care about his wife and 2 daughters.

Great Points, Clark...the problem as a Black community, we get accustomed to depending on those outside of our community which stands at about $1 trillion per year GDP and never "learn" how to gradually replace that dependency internal efforts. Then in time, with politics and change in budgeting, they began to siphon the black community off...which is what currently is happening.

The point of the blog is that Black Americans can only WIN as a community when we are in full control of the land, the government and the resources...which will only occur with LAND OF OUR OWN.
