The Queen's Chair: Monday, Monday (246 hits)

I hate Mondays. I'm not ready for the weekend to end. I don't want to deal with the crazy Monday morning pace. I wish I had an extra couple hours of sleep. This morning, something amazing happened...my teenager got up with NO assistance from me. I came close to fainting. My FB friends joked about it and told me to take deep breaths and sit down. Another wanted to know if the end of the world was coming. I laughed.

However, my laughter was short-lived. I looked at my schedule for today and realized I'm going to have to clone myself. My daughter's lacrosse game got moved to day and we have to leave early to beat rush hour traffic. And I still need to wash her uniform. I just told my writing partners that I wouldn't be able to attend our meeting because of the game. My sister reminded me that I agreed to do a presentation for the American Diabetes Association: she neglected to tell me it was today. Until, she dropped off my box of materials last night. I am finishing up this blog and my "mommy threads" this morning, will hop in the shower after that, and still need to find time to finish my column. Oy vie!!!!

I usually don't schedule anything on Monday for this reason. A lot of these things went beyond my control. While my oldest got up, my youngest had to be dragged out of her bed this morning. I had to curl her hair, find her lunch money, pull out a clean pair of pants, and now I have to drop off her note to school for a doctor's appointment. So much for easing into the new week.

Monday, Monday...
