I've had a request and an amen to once again attempt a discussion of the word "race", a word we use rather indiscriminately. For reference:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosophy_of... My thoughts.
In a nutshell, the words we use, by virtue of that use, condition the way we think, until we arrive at the point where we take a truth (or unproven) as a given.
A prime example is "race". A simple consideration might be if we were to take this word as inherent and counterproductive to the problem of "racism", and therefore discontinuing the use of the word might aid the discontinuance of racism?
