Engineers have a responsibility to be Ethical, as in every other field. So what in particular does this mean for Engineers?

Lets expand the name Engineer to the main divides; Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Agricultural Engineering. Idea is to use the knowledge of the sciences in their respective disciplines to articulate developments. These are the basic engineering areas and form the basis for a superior quality of life. Engineering provides the basis for project solutions in agricultural productivity and energy production. Medical Instrumentation and space technologies is a part of health maintenance and nation future planning. Engineering staffing is the differance between countries that advance in material generation to meet the needs of its citizenry versus a people needing others to deliver to them the essentials of life, like beans, rice, cheese and drinkable water.

And Steve, who knows about an engineer but another engineer. I ask myself what does a medical doctor do ? Only other medical doctors or nurses perhaps. How can a plumber say with any decree of accuracy what a architect does when he is a plumber. Perhaps black people need actual practicioners speak on topics instead of others who have not an integral relationship with the expertise.

Critical Analysis involve standards and us engineers have standards that we design by for example IEEE and NEC. There are many standards depending on the nature of the subject. If we can agree on the standards, then we can talk about Critical Analysis.

Sorry, but critical analysis precedes standards. We used critical analysis to create the standards. And feedback from practical experience with the standards. Have you participated in making the standards, Jamal?

How can one country set at the same table with another country and speak of critical analysis without agreeing on manufacturing standards, quality controls standards, power distribution standards.....etc. ANSI, OSHA, ISO 14000 and the like...Sorry Steve, without an agreement on standards there is no reason for anyone to believe the results of ones critical analysis.

By the way Steve, where are ALL these engineers on BIA you spoke about......Hello...Hello....anyone there but me. Can we try to keep it real. An engineer has a degree in engineering. Simple as that. I'm not speaking of someone being referred to as an engineer. Irma is no engineer and knows nothing about an engineer. And you Steve...admittedly is no engineer so aren't you speaking over your head ?

Steve, hopefully another engineer can comment on your blog. As a divine leader of Black Americans my goal is not to talk to a white man about what he knows nothing about. You are not an engineer. You have not a degree in an engineering. Only an imposter acts like something he is not. But, if just one(1) other engineer who has a degree in engineering and who is working as an engineer ON BIA care to comment on your blog, I would be happy to share my actual experiences AS AN ENGINEER. Otherwise, this blog is a waste of my precious time.

Jamal, I said the ethic of an engineer starts with critical analysis, which is common to other sciences as well. You said it comes after standards are set, and I said it is a prerequisite for setting standards. But that was just sidetracking the issue.
The key attribute of critical analysis is to rationally discern truth, rather than proceeding on unproved assumptions. An engineer's mind shows the same character in ordinary life as when at work on an engineering problem.
You however do not demonstrate critical analysis when you claim I am not an engineer, and more importantly, when you treat me as a white man. In other words, you are superstitious, and superstition and engineering are not aligned.
I can easily prove my engineering powers by explaining my patents. If it were the case I am lying, I wouldn't be able to explain them. You might actually enjoy the discussion if not for the fact you are too busy promoting superstition.
And BTW, my field was in embedded systems, just as yours is.

How could you be so ignorant to say that Jamal is not an engineer? You compound your ignorance to say that he is not an engineer, since someone else conferred it on him. You are talking absolutely stupid.
Firstly, of course, some one conferred on Jamal engineering and that someone else happens to be Michigan State University, which is a highly recognized university. Michigan State University is not a University that Blacks could easily enter without having exceptional grades and potentials in high school.
Secondly, and most importantly Jamal has an actual hard copy Master’s degree certificate showing that Michigan State University has conferred upon Jamal all the rights and privileges entitled to an electrical nuclear engineer and you would have the gall to say that Jamal is not an engineer. Are you stupid?
Well, by what standards could you produce that Jamal is not an engineer. General Electric and Seimens of Germany seems to believe that Jamal is an engineer and they have put their money where there mouth and beliefs are. They pay Jamal a very good salary. I am sure that Jamal’s overseas per diem must have been astronomical.
I worked in Iryvan, Armenia out of the State Department and my per diem was wonderful.
I do not understand that for a White man you are extremely ignorant.
Thirdly, there is a crucial difference between standards and critical analyst. You have to have standards to qualify your critical analyst. Jamal explained to you that without standards there is really no need for critical analysts since everything goes. You do not have to be concerned about accidents and deaths that may result from what you are doing if you do not have standards to go by, am I right.
What say you?

Steve, How do you think they reimbursed me when I recently commissioned the new MEDIUM VOLTAGE VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVES IN QUAD CITIES, IOWA FOR THEIR NUCLEAR POWER PLANT. TELL US MORE HOW THEY PAY ENGINEERS.

Jamal, if you get paid a per diem then fine. But it is not something that I've see in the companies I've worked for, including Burroughs, DEC, and EDS, nor in the hugely successful startup Ascend Communications, which I am sure you will have no trouble finding on the web, though they sold out to Lucent in 1998 for 24 billion. Oh, I started with them when there were 30 or so of us. I doubt you could've taken the heat.

Well my company Engineers, Drivers, Technicians, Safety Agents... are paid by allowance.. and yes Steve, they complete Expense/Request for Reimbursement forms...
US Government Contractors use a per diem form of pay... But it still is just a set allowance... per day for meals/fuel/...
FULL reimbuirsement is allowed after all receipts and travel expenses are reported.
So I can speak on this... I am familiar...
I guess if I could buy a book on Engineering for Dummies... I could get the basic frame work on what's invloved.
Steve do you have a problem with learning and taking an interest in Engineering and Computer Programming Science.... I think I must have your permission before I take on any further studies....

steve Jamal once asked this off the wall question to get hmslef out of a bond...he said did they have computers back when they built the pyramids...my quwstion is if our brains are actually 'computers' and computers are related to 1-0...then as the pyrmids were built using amth then they really did have in their day what amounts to today's computers, right? lol (smile)

because as long as you have been on tis site Jamal you have said you are an engineer...you have never ever been speicifc on any thing...again common sense...my professor in phisosophy in my class on medaphysic work with NASA part time as an engineer on T-I-M-E, yes time as you lnow tose space ships must be on sun and moon time Jamal...and I doubt if anyone would hire him as a bridge engineer...again just plain old every day common sense...not double time con jobs just the facts...
my professor never went around talking about I work for NASA as it would have made him look as stupid as you do jamal...besides after a while he would have just been boring any way and not admired as he was...but this is someone who did not reside on planet SOS either...
