Credit is given to the many African American homes with single moms as head of household. But, the home is not complete without the father eventhough the mom is doing the best she can. Ideally, you want a good father and a good mother with children in the home. When a family looses the Father, it looses the main protector of the home. Certainly, the single mom can buy a dog or an alarm system to help protect her. Again, the family is not whole or complete. The family looses the a sense of LAW without a Father. Sure a single mom can discipline and be stern, but when these youth now days are growing bigger and stronger then their parents at earlier ages, it helps to have the strength of a FATHER around. In short the fatherless homes makes the African Americans homes more vulnerable to the vices of the times. How many times would it be necessary for you to understand that Black Americans are not African Americans? An African American is a person of African origin that has become an American citizen. Am I wrong? If I am wrong then please show it, okay.
Because I am wiser than you are and have great insight because I am Black America’s first genuine prophet you confuses me when you absentmindedly refers to Black Americans as African Americans. It takes away from the essence of your blog!

Hello Jamal,

It is not fatherless homes since that could be any homes! It is about the Black American fatherless homes but you are mistakenly referring to the African-American fatherless homes, am I right. Be honest with me. Therefore, I am simply asking you to make the proper necessary correction and not refer to Black Americans as African Americans anymore.
Therefore, I do not think that I am away from the gist of your blog. Your blog is misrepresenting Black Americans for African Americans, am I right. Therefore, I am on track since I wanted to know who is fatherless, whether it is the African American community or the Black American community homes.
For instance, there is an African community (Nigerians) in Houston, Texas and there has never been anything in the news about their homes being fatherless! On the other hand, from coast to coast we hear how fatherless the Black American communities are, am I right.
So, I believe that you need to clarify what people you are referencing. Why should you give me an argument over clarity? I am asking for clarity.
So tell me is there such a people as Black Americans and if you believe that they are then are African Americans the same as Black Americans? Again, I am asking for clarity, okay. So, please clarify your self so we can actually get to the red meat of your blog.

Hello to All,
I believe that we are talking specifically about Black Americans and the ills of Black Americans. In other words, we are not generalizing anything we want to be specific, am I right. Therefore, our focus is specifically on Black Americans.
Am I wrong or am I right?

Hello Jamal,
I see that you are stubborn and blind so I will leave it alone, except that I would say to you for the last time that the African American communities has fathers in their homes. One of these communities is the Nigerians community in Houston, Texas. You could google other different African American communities and you will see that for the most part fathers are in their homes.
However, the same is not true about Black America’s homes.
So, again, you are stubborn and blind to correct yourself, which makes for a very bad so-called father of a new nation, am I right.

Harry, here are some stats from the US Census......Most children live with one parent as the result of divorce, but by 1996 the single-parent home was as likely to involve a never married as a divorced parent. Unmarried women in the United States accounted for nearly one in three births in 1995, compared with one in five in 1980 and one in ten in 1970. The percentage of births to single women varies across race. In 1995, 20 percent of all births to Asian and Pacific Islanders were to single women, compared to 25 percent for white women; 41 percent for women of Hispanic origin; 57 percent for Native American, Eskimo, and Aleut women; and 70 percent for African-American families.

So, Harry these are the reports published by the US and you continue to speak for folly....but 70% of African American homes with a single parent is a crisis.

Clark, I agree. Many black men have nothing to do with their children, and/or dislike their children, because they view the child and the mother, as a composite figure, a package if you will. Much of this is due to ignorance, selfishness and outright stupidity, whereas some of it is due to some in the culture who insist that the child belongs more so to the mother, than it does the father, seeing as how the mother carries the child for 9 months, etc.
More black men need to be in the homes where their children are being raised, which overlaps into other areas of discussion concerning black male/female relationships (which is something I'm tired of addressing, to where I'm coming to the point of saying "PHUGG IT!"), but I will say that if the fathers aren't in the home, then they ought to be in the lives of their children, showing positive examples, and giving proper guidance.
