Clark, I actually ordered the book and can't wait to read it...Jennifer Lewis is the actress who played Melvin Franklin's mom "Mama Rose" in The Tempations movie...also she auditioned for the role of Tina Turner in the movie "What's Love Got to Do With It" but she landed the role of Tina's mother and the role of Tina went to Angela Bassett instead.

Jenifer Lewis was one of the diva sistas... of Helen's on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire... She had a season on A Different World..... in all her roles she has this characteristic that just seems so natural... and she is a candid spokesman for Mental Illness.... She's Bi-Polar and she talks about her bouts of depression, she has to live with. But to see her act, I have to wander... how is it that she can do it!
I too have bouts with depression. I was diagnosed in 1998 after the death of my son, and take medication.... I was taken off and re-medicated in 2001 after the birth of my last son... today... I'm good...
