On That Same Night, New Jersey Native And African American, Suzette Charles Was Chosen Runner-Up, In America's Foremost Beauty Pageant.
Williams Was Stripped Of Her Crown 10 Months Later, After **** Photos Of Her Appeared In Penthouse Magazine. And As Fate Would Have It, Suzette Charles Became America's Second Black Miss America, In Less Than A Year.
Vanessa Williams Went On To Have A Successful Recording And Acting Career. Suzette Charles Followed Suit, Becoming A Popular Singer, Television Personality, Actor And Entertainer.

Gaddy, I will never forget listening to a talk radio station here right after Ms williams won...the caller called the host trying to prove that Ms willimas was not Black because she has gray eyes...
the host of the program was a black male and is reply was to this lady, "are you saying I am lying about my being Black because I have green eyes" what a teaching moment this was and this incident will be forever in my mind, because at the time I was listening to this I was practicing my speech for the next day gradutaion breakfast where I would be recieiving an award in honor as the Black Student of the year at my first receiving my degree in BIA history. (smile)
