Ummm.I doubt that the Tea Party scared us ,but perhaps it should have .I do suspect that too many of us( Tea Party included ) were expecting Obama to produce some new edition of the Proclamation Emancipation .When he did'nt,well , the Teabaggers were'nt impressed . To them , whatever he did ....he was still too black to be in the white house .The rest of us , well our hopes were deflated when we learned that he could'nt walk on water .

I'm afraid for the Tea Partiers because they are not "listening". They want to take their government back by giving back social security, continuing the exporting of jobs to China. They are driven by fear and the Republicans are playing on their fears to keep President Obama from serving a second term. Most of the people expected him to go into office and make things right in a month. That is simply not possible. It was a mess when he took office but he is getting the job done.
We have to get out of that instant gratification mode. It's the Whitehouse, not McDonald's!

The tea party is an astro-turf movement funded by wealthy interests who use those people to unwittingly vote against their own interests. Unable and unwilling to think for themselves, they've been conditioned to believe all the lies coming out of the right wing echo chamber that mask the real culprits in their lives. High unemployment, lack of health care, foreclosures and other financial system abuses that deplete their pensions and retirements are all things that benefit the very groups and individuals that fund their movement. Yet they support policies that ensure that these things get worse, not better.

Instead, they've been conditioned to blame "government" for all their ills, even as it is the government in the form of the current administration fighting to provide relief for them as they fight the government and this president, focusing on silly things like his birth certificate.

The reason the Tea Party gets as much play as it does is because it is the tool of the powers that be. They make sure if a tea party member breaks wind in Iowa, its "news" on Fox. They keep these people front and center to make it seem as if they are more substantial and credible than they really are.

As for Obama supporters, we're still here. Some of us are frustrated as hell because we would like to see a little more fight coming out of this white house, but we support and defend this president still against the likes of the tea party and its racist minions who'll oppose anything coming out of the white house, simply to deny this president any semblance of victory, and never mind the fact that, when he wins, we all win.
