AN ODD STORY: 72,000 Stimulus Payments Went to the Dead!

What they fail to say in all this, is the list that is used to generate this checks are in a data base, if someone passes away and the data base is not update because the agency was either: Not informed of the passing or the person working at the agency did not update the data base in a timely fashion, then yes checks will be sent to some people that are now deceased. This has nothing to do with the job the President has been doing, guess that is why so many are upset with the policies the administration have been developing to curtail and stop this type of lack of oversight.

Right on the money Marquerite! I don't think it has anything to do with our president at all. It's just data is not updated. It's internal as for as providing correct data on deaths of those passed. Sometimes deaths are never reported by relatives, or family and perhaps little follow up is amended. Frankly, I think they are aware of this oversight since they have data of checks printed to the dead were returned. At least they may implement on improving disburstments in the future.

Irma, no, I'm talking about people like myself who have spent a lifetime putting into this TRUST FUND, and are still waiting 2 years later for a disability claim to be adjudicated, or forced to get/pay a lawyer to get THEIR MONEY out of it!

Great observation Irma. Those returned checks could of possibly been used to aid others in need, are stuffed in pockets of the greedy. This year for example; there will be no cost of living increase for those on SSI. That's two years in a row! What uses are checks to the dead. We have the corruption of people like you mentioned --and that's abosoultely well...to just round it up...it's just WRONG!..

But this young man I know, who might have put into it for a couple years, if that, had no problem getting his disability claim approved. He sits around and gets high all day.

Adam, it's getting tougher for any claims to be paid. Everytime YOU apply there's always something preventing it YOU from gettting it. This is NOT how it's suppose to be! Alll of the years you've been paying in --then finding when it time to get something out you have to go thru so many channels...Then many times it's not at all the amount it should be. Benefits are in a bundle of knots. I admit, I'm not understanding it.

They put you through an ungodly process. Your initial claim is automatically denied. Then your review is denied. Then you wait for a SS official to hear your case. I was initially told that would take 14-16 months before I would get a hearing. Its been longer than that, I've lost track. That hearing, if not in my favor, leads to a real court hearing, i.e. finally outside of SS jurisdiction. This is why there is a whole industry of lawyers, which is really the only way to succeed at this process. Of course the lawyers take a percentage of your payments.

I've been meaning to ask you, since I haven't been to the polls for a while, is it allowed to solicit for a candidate outside the polling place?

So almost 2 Million dollars went to dead people, and they got half of it back? HOLD UP AM I READING THAT RIGHT?

What happened to the OTHER half? My question is what list did those people come from? Registered Voters? I hope not; but if they did it sound like Voter fraud to me.

@Adam, are you talking about the people on S.S. who have spent a life time putting money into this program by way of each and every pay check (plus tose who did so but have died before they could collect one red cent of a life tiime of putting money into tis program???!!!?)
