Legalizing Marijuana: Whats the Deal

Lots of brothers and sisters have caught "cases" with the judicial system for smoking pot. My take on this subject is that I am against drugs; cocaine, angel dust, crack, etc. These are substances that have been fabricated by man. But, Marijuana, I do not put in this classification...it is grown out of the grown like a flower. It should be treated similar to smoking cigerettes. Though, unlike cigerettes, there is no clinical evidence that links marijuana to cancer Legalizing it, would help stem the many blacks in the judicial system.

In California, where Proposition 19, which proposes to "regulate, control and tax cannabis," will be on the statewide ballot on November 2. In California alone, the illegal market for cannabis, or marijuana, has been estimated to be worth about $14 billion per year, and the legalization initiative aims to redirect the flow of these massive profits from violent drug cartels toward government coffers.

At my place of employment and many jobs today, they test for marijuana or any other controlled substance. In that light, I would not recommend blacks to take up smoking pot....but, legalizing pot would prevent many brothers and sisters from going to jail.

In Pennsylvania, alcohol prices are controlled by the state. My thoughts are that something similar will control prices and drive prices per unit weight on the streets "down".

The trade in marijuana is not uniform. The best stuff is grown indoors, often by hydroponic means, by peaceful potheads. No crime involved here. It is certainly wrong to put anyone in prison for it. But also wrong to tax it.
