There was a time I was. Holidays were suppose to be a joyous and happy time. A time for family and closeness of relationships. But due to a very broken heart I felt depressed. Over many years, I suffered deeply with every holiday long days of holiday blues. The relationship was unruly to a heart like mine--- that loved so deeply.
How did I recover?
I didn't get professional help; but I urge others that are dealing with depression of a broken heart to if they feel it hasn't or doesn't get any better. No, I just dealt with the pain and with God I kept hope until finally all the pain was gone. This took great faith and a huge amount of trusting God. Many times I did things to fill in the gaps. Some things didn't make me very proud, but I was awaken to keep the strong belief that God would see me through it. Now, I approach the holidays with vigor and renewal.
