Reports said the blast occurred in the baggage check-in area of the airport, the Russian capital’s biggest in terms of passenger traffic.

At least 23 people were killed and 100 wounded Monday in a suicide blast at Russia's busiest airport, Domodedovo, Russia's state-run news agency reported.
Unofficial sources said that the explosion occured at the international arrivals hall at Domodedovo, while other reports said the blast happened in the baggage check-in area.

A spokeswoman for the investigative committee of the federal prosecutor's office earlier put the number of casualties at about 20, citing preliminary information, and said the cause of the blast was unknown.
