The Presidential Medal of Freedom award is known as one of the highest most proudest awards to be given to a civilian offered in the United States. This award recognizes individuals who have made contributions to either, security, nation, and interests of peace and humanity in the United States. The award is not limited to citizens of United States. This is considered a civilian award but also may be awarded to military and personnel and worn on the uniform. The award was established by President Harry Truman in 1945 to honor civilian services during World War II. In 1963 President John F. This is a yearly award and is given at a time decided by the Chief Executive Officer of the United States. The award can be received more than once.
