When are two hearts beating as one? Read an Odd Story..
Extraordinary....
Tyson Smith is no ordinary one heart man anymore. The 36 year Black husband and father suffered a massive heart attack and was dying. Tyson's heart was very weak, but Tyson was revived. After his receiving an additional donor heart he now has two! This came about when Smith received a procedure known as hetertopic heart transplantation. In the procedure the new heart is positioned on the right side of his own heart. This procedure is rare but gives patients an average survival rate up to 10 years. The donor heart and Smith's heart were attached to each other. Dr's said that his right heart will pump about 80% of the blood and the weaker heart his own on the left pumps only about 20%. Smith was said that he is blessed to be alive and that he is growing stronger everyday. Here's an odd story insight Tyson received his donor heart on Valentine's Day!
It's not so ODD to have a heart transplant,
but I thought it's ODD to have 2 hearts!
Then to receive it on the day of love!
