Today I was planning some finishing touches to my engagement celebration this coming June and have been working with my parents, close friends, and business owner colleague to ensure a pleasurable and memorable moment in the walk of life. I decided to do a romantic 4 star plus restaurant to pop the question early in the week to avoid large crowds on the weekends. Followed by a horse driven carriage ride at Central Park where we meet initially. My business partner has confirmed a Executive 2 bedroom Suite for a party of approximately 20 people in Manhattan in July. I believe it's proper etiquette to invite both parents without a doubt. The dillema I face; should this be a basic cocktail party with hors d'oeuvres and champagne, wine, and light alcohol beverages? My partner has hired a DJ for light sounds, jazz, classic, and light club, not to hot n heavy. Should we provide a meal beyond the classic hors d'oeuvres? Should I give Janelle a gift? Should the guest dress formal or business casual? Invitations will be sent by my business partner to the guests, recommendations on formats?, elaborate, medium, light, printed invitations and reply cards???
Finally I have selected the ring design and tried not to be over-the-top, thoughts on the attached picture?
Any other suggestions would be welcome as I am seeking guidance from a variety of people to get the event done right.

Dear Saint:
Your Janelle is a very fortunate woman to have a man as thoughtful and caring as you.
I wish you both all the greatest good fortune you can ever want!!!
PEACE AND BLESSINGS TO YOU BOTH!!!
