Young black kids as young as 2 yrs and up to 16 yrs can participate in Easter activities. The involvement starts with what will they wear, the depending on the church; they will participate in a play, dance, routine or just shout out. Parents get to dressup and participate in gossip to who they see at church that were not there until special events. Point is that the entire family can participate. This is missing is growing up as muslims.
Sure, there are men and boys training is Islam. Then there is training for women and girls. But, when it comes to exciting events that young muslim kids or youth can participate....NOT MUCH. This is an area that can change which little Abraham brings in the New World planed for establishment by African Americans in Africa.
There needs to be more activities or events that brings joy and excitement to the youth. This is important to family strength which the core group to a nation. EAster is just that opportunity for youth, be them Christian or any religion to engage in joy as they celebrate their faith.
Then there is the belief behind the event. The belief that Jesus rose on the 3rd day demonstrating his savior account of the world. This is extremely subjective. In other words there is no proof in it so you pretty much have to accept it on faith. This blog is not about attacking the belief of Easter. It is more about how the Christian religion inculcates more events that stimulate young kids to participate in church functions.
There is this one muslim minister, for example of NOI, that can hardly get any of his kids to come to the Mosque. He is only one of many. But, when the young muslim kids come to the mosque service, there is lecture, clapping and after service trade. To many kids and youth, that can easily be described as DULL. Then there are the feasts after Ramadan which are nice. But, that more eating. Just how much can a kid eat. There has to be more for kids that capture them longer than 30 minutes cause after 30minutes the kid is full...THEN WHAT........SO when are the special events for kids and youth that are joyful and exciting.
During Easter, kids get to look for easter eggs. It reminds you of hide and seek. Lets face it, no matter what your religion...thats fun.
