The Queen's Chair: The Royal Wedding (601 hits)

OK. I was a bit excited about the Royal Wedding. I refused to get up for it at 4 a.m. The beauty of having 24-7 news coverage is that I can wake up at a normal time and see the things I wanted to see. The vows, Kate' dress, the kiss, the hats, and what the wedding party wore. Princess Beatrice's hat was just dreadful. And why was Pippa in white, too?

I don't know why we Americans were caught up in the fairytale event. Some blame home. Some blame the love at first sight theory. I wish the media would provide a more balanced coverage. I would love to see them capture the marriage of a black royal couple. Yes. We do have them. Just when will the media ever show one.

Oh Sister Marsha,
The wedding coverage was great and I was able to flip back and forth between the American and Canadian networks like CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp) coverage which gave more intimate details of the Royals since they are also a commonwealth and have ties to the British Monarchy. It was nice to get some of the history that perhaps American networks were not so privy to. I do realize that many of the networks had people with British sounding accents, but not all were thorough and able to give historical facts that were relevant and meaningful.
The thing that touched me the most was the fact that I could see the Late Princess Diana's influence on the event and how she really succeeded at raising Prince William. What a wonderful testiment to her legacy. I hope she was smiling down from Heaven on the day.

Philippa wore white because her big sister was looking out for her trying to give a subliminal message to her sister's beau that he'd better propose soon or else. ~Ha! Is it really true that it was Kate's sister who took her out dancing after Prince William broke it off with her? Oh those details were nice to know. Did you see the Beckman woman and her Black dress? What was up with that?! Fergie's daughter's fasinator was aweful dreadful and looked like she had a moose in the front of her head!

Because of the Royal Wedding, I've decided to become a sort of Monarchist and have already requested some material to be placed on hold for me in the local library about the British Monarchy's History and information about the Royals. I think its really fasinating, but didn't find it so while I was in high school.
