The U.S. has denied Libyan rebels official recognition. It comes after a visit to the White House by a senior member of the opposition council, which is pushing for international support. The Libyan envoy says the rebels are having trouble getting Washington to release Colonel Gaddafi's frozen assets. The U.S. had earlier promised to hand over some of the multi-billion dollar funds to aid the opposition.
