A QUESTION FOR ALL BIA MEMBERS...YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS PLEASE? (677 hits)

I have been in dialouge with a brother who has a father-in-law from Ghana. His (father-in-laws) name was Kwame. He (the father-in-law) said "The reason that our ancestors were sold into slavery was that they were problem people that the tribe needed to get rid of. This is what he (his father in law) had been told growing in Ghana. What were you told about the reason your fellow tribes people were sold into slavery? It was also said that we never put up a fight and we accepted our lot here in the Americas. What were the stories that you were told about us over here?

From my studies I have learn that tribes fought each other and the... spoils of those wars were sold into slavery. Anyone who wanted profit got involved. But the Europeans took it to a new level. When it became so profitable, there was nothing Africans could do to stop it. People were separated from family and country.

Hi lov, "I" still stick with slavery and chatel slavery are not the same...as far as reasons given for american's needing slaves from Africa has no set blief / teachings. example, that Steven spilburg movie about the ship of slaves that mutnied and were sent back to Africa after our federal courts took the matter to court...

the slaves on this ship had like so many other Africans had been led to believe theonly way so many Africans were being taken like this was they were being eaten as food and this was how they replenshed thier supply of human foods...

I repeat there are as many different verisons as religions tend to take the lead in our thinkings on such matters...and the truth shall set one free. lol (smile)

OH, AND IF WE GET OVER THOSE TEACHINGS THAT AFRICA DID NOT HAVE CITY STATES ALONG WITH SLAVES COULD NOT READ AND WRITE THEN WE WILL BE ALBE TO GO FIND ACTUAL TINGS LIKE I JUS TMENTIONED DOCUMENTED IN FIRST PERSON FORMS AND IN THIER OWN WRITINGS OF THESE DOCUMENTATIONS UN DISTORTED AS WE STILL DEMAND WE GET THESE 'F-A-C-T-S"...
