Stillman's Brittany Poston is busy in the lab this summer, as she has been awarded the opportunity to participate in the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at the University of West Georgia (UWG), in Carrolton.
A Westpoint, Miss., native, Poston is a rising senior at Stillman, majoring in biology. "Dr. Marion Fintel, the Pre-Med Advisor introduced me to this program," Poston explained. The program is sponsored and coordinated by the Office of Institutional Diversity at the UWG. Poston is working in the biology lab conducting research on antibiotics and their binding properties.
"I am extremely grateful to be selected into the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at the University of West Georgia," she said. "It is indeed an honor to be awarded the opportunity to have an experience in research. It is not only an experience that is beneficial presently, but one that will be beneficial in the future also."
Upon graduation, Poston plans to attend Pharmacy School, and has her eyes set on Florida A&M University.
