I couldn't believe my eyes when I read this New York Daily News article, White supremacist principal running Bronx school with majority black and latino students.
A White Supremacist is the Principal of a Bronx, NY school with a predominantly African-American and Latino population?
According to the article, 48-year-old Frank Borzellieri was appointed 2 years ago to run Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic school.
Borzellieri reportedly has ties to White Supremacist groups-- wrote a highly controversial and to some offensive book in 2004 called "Don't Take It Personally, Race, Immigration, Crime and Other Heresies" where he stated that the rising Hispanic and African-American population will lead to "The Dark Age," and pushed for a ban of a biography on the late Civil Rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.Martin Luther King Jr.
He reportedly also writes for the White supremacist publication, American Renaissance.
Despite this disturbing background, The pastor of Mount Carmel, Rev. Eric Rapaglia shockingly said he knew of the Principal's affiliations and racist views but didn't 'see any cause for concern" and that he didn't agree with everything Borzellieri said but "I think much of it is valuable and logical and reasonable."
To add insult to injury the Rev reportedly added, " a lot of his ideas would actually benefit minorities."
Benefit our children? Valuable, logical and reasonable? What is valuable and reasonable about putting a man who believes the children he is entrusted to educate, help build character, self-esteem, self-confidence, discipline--whose minds he is helping shape--are inferior to him and will one day contribute to the "Dark Age?"
