LET'S LINE DANCE! (239 hits)

It's quite a dance craze for many people and line dancing has many all over the world trying out the steps. What makes group dancing so popular? Well each person may have their own reason for liking to dance. Since dance is an interaction with others it can be great fun and also a terrific way to exercise and socialize.

Dance has been around since creation.. as people danced all over the world, and the influence of dancing generated from generations from almost every human culture.

There is speculation that line dancing officially found it’s way from country and western dances with steps for group participation. In doing a small research I found that old “Contra” style dances evolved in the 1800’s with men on one side and women on the other side. This dance was usually in pairs with turns and steps often which seemed complicated and required at least a minimal amount of practice. Later, in the 1940’s line dancers started a popular dance called the Stroll and in the age of the 1970’s line dances such as the “Hustle” began to plagued ordinary people to be a great floor step hustler. The Hustle was also a popular country dance once called the JR Hustle. However, it’s also noted that every culture great and small stems to some type or kind of tradition line dance.
Dance has so much history!! Dances and the meaning of dancing is a vast learning field about motion and movement that I hardly have the opportunity or the knowledge to cover such a enormous history of the fine art of body in motion!

DO YOU PRACTICE LINE DANCE?
Even if you’re not a dedicated line dancer, you may like to shuffle your steps from time to time. Many fitness centers offer line dance classes, and your may check around to see if there are groups which also offer line dancing. There’s always something to know, and a few new steps to learn. If you’re creative you can make up your own line dance and groove it with others. It’s active exercise, great interaction with others and it may just keep you in tune and balance.

Steppin…out!

Step! ...Step!
