THINK PROGRESS, August 26, 2011--Taking his anti-government ideology to its logical extreme, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) told NBC News’ Jo Ling Kent today that there should be no national response to Hurricane Irene, and that government responses should revert back to how they were over 100 years ago. “We should be like 1900, we should be like 1940 1950 1960,” he said. “I live on the gulf coast, we deal with hurricanes all the time.” Of course, the Gulf Coast sometimes deals with them less well thanks to a botched national response. Paul, who has called for abolishing FEMA, dismissed the organization because it is “a great contribution to deficit financing.”

But Rich this is America, example, are we not the nation that gave the other side a shalching for them daring to go against this form of campaigning just last NOV.????????
Aren't we the nation taht is turning against our prresident and is administration for not invading sovergn nations, not getting our troops killed in syria, trying to get living wage jobs, our teachers, and police back on the jobs?????????
I would more likely agree with Paul if we still build things like we use to do and not just through up homes, business over night with as less safe, secure materials possiable, even bridges and dams , ect. (nup)
AND, NOT TO MENTION THROWING IN A LITTLE GLOBAL WARMINGS AS IN SCIENCE SINCE WE NOW NO LONGER BELIEVE THE EARTH IS FLAT. LOL...
