Memphis, Tennessee
Shelby County’s Commissioner and once interim mayor bounce his way to the Shelby County Jail today after a local jeweler filed a warrant to have him arrested for bouncing a check totaling $1,500 as a down payment on 2 Rolex watches. The jeweler said the check was presented twice at his bank and bounced both times. They tried calling Mr. Ford, as he promised to take care of the situation-- but never did. So away the commissioner went and turned himself in. He served only a few hours in jail and was released without bond. He said there was a misunderstanding and will resolve the debt. However he will be in court this morning. If he is convicted of theft and bad checks he could get bounced with serving out 12 years behind the cells. Ford is also a bouncing candidate in the Memphis City Mayor’s race in the upcoming election.
