Sean “Diddy” Combs has saved a charity in his Harlem neighborhood from closure by handing over a sizeable donation.
The Harlem born hip-hop mogul saved the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem, NY, that gives help and guidance to young people in the community, but the organization faced a shutdown due to state budget cuts. Combs, stepped in and his generous contribution will now keep the charity running for the foreseeable future.
Willie C. Bentley, Jr., board member and resource development chair of The Boys and Girls Club, “Mr. Combs’ contribution comes at a time when we were (sic) faced with the possibility of eliminating existing programs and/or club sites.
“One hundred per cent of Mr. Combs’ contribution will go directly to the young people, and provide educational, recreational and social enrichment programs allowing us to move forward as a club, uninterrupted.”
A hometown hero, Sean “Diddy” Combs grew up in Harlem and credits the historically artistic community for influencing his musical oeuvre. Over the years, he has continued to lend his support and has remained an active member of the community.
