"I'm one proud momma today"--Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey attended the very first graduating ceremony at her African Schools for girls held on Saturday, January 21, 2012. The graduates consisted of 72 out of an original of 75 attendees. All 72 grads will be attending colleges in South Africa, or in the USA. Winfrey invested 40 million dollars in building the school also commended administrators, educational staff, and parents for their dedication to hours of study and time to the graduates in the class. When the school first opened it doors many of the students never had access to computers, desk or basic books and paper for their classes. Some poverty stricken, were poorly dress but at the ceremony all appeared elegant in fine white dresses. Oprah insisted that the staffing got all the glory for the graduates success to pass. "I'm a proud momma today." said Winfrey in her address to the class. In addition during the ceremony she asked all to stand and give themselves an round of applause.
