When We Become Convinced That
We’re Right, That We’re Speaking
For God, That There Is Only One Way
To Look At A Situation, We Quickly
Become Hard – Hearted And Self –
Righteous.
We Can Become So Sure Of Ourselves
And The Human “Wisdom” Of The Ages
That We Is Incapable Of Listening To
What One Is Really Saying Or To What
God Himself Might Want To Reveal In
Our Situation.
When We Won't Capitulate To Our Friends'
Viewpoint, They Only Becomes More
Aggressive And Mean - Spirited.
The Fact That Ones And Others, Who Are So
Sure They Are Right, Turn Out To Be Entirely
Wrong Demonstrates That Even The Most
Righteous And Educated Should Always
Place Humility Above Conviction.
The Next Time You Find Yourself Feeling
Absolutely, Positively, No-Doubt-About-It
Sure You Are Right, Practice Closing Your
Mouth And Opening Your Mind And Heart.
