A Tennessee woman and her three children were kidnapped and abducted by a family friend on April 27, 2012. The family friend known as Adam Mayes took the three girls and their mom from their home after he had driven up in order to help assist the family with their move to Arizona. According to sources the woman's husband said he woke only to discover they were vanished when he woke the next morning. After reporting the disappearance a nation wide Amber alert waved over many cities to be on alert for their where abouts. Days and hours past; but no clues of their location surfaced.

Police in Union County, Mississippi followed a lead the home of Adam Mayes in hope to find the missing Bain woman and her daughters. After searching for clues in Mayes's home and the grounds of the property news sources reported that there were two shallow graves found on the property. At first information pertaining to the bodies were not released until a complete autosopy of them were conducted. When the information was released it was related that the bodies buried were of the mother, Jo Ann Bain and her eldest 14 year old daughter. This also increased the search for Mayes as information of his Facebook surfaced and profiled provided photos and his alias identities. In addition, Mayes had been caught on tape shopping a local convienience store as well. FBI were also called into the case of Mayes, and the town of Union, Mississippi was placed on high alert for his manhunt as two of the missing girls had not been discovered. The following day the town of Union City, MS held a candle light vidual for the woman and her daughter.

Shortly after discovering the bodies of Jo Ann Bain and her 14-year daughter, Local police and FBI investigators arrested two women for questioning regardig allegations of aiding in a kidnapping and murder. Adam Mayes Mother and ex-wife were arrested and as of May 9th the ex-wife has been charged with accessory of two counts of murder as she confessed she witnessed Mayes killing of Jo Ann Bain and her daughter in the shed location of his home's property. The mother was arrested and questioned as concealing her son's location during the hunt of the abduction. At the time during this occurance a $50,000 reward was issued by the FBI for information leading to Mayes location and the two missing girls.

Because of the severity of this child, family murders and abductions, the FBI has named Adam Mayes as number 10 on it's most wanted list. A nation wide search and full investigation, manhunt has made Adam Mayes a fugitive. Anyone with information on Mayes is asked to contact the FBI or their local authority. It is believed that Mayes may have altered his appearance and that of the two girls whom are presumed to still be alive. Mayes has connections in Mississippi, Arizona, Texas, North and South Carolina and Florida. Large billboard posters have been placed along many highways and in many public locations in order the locate Adam Mayes.

UPDATED: 05.11.12 On Thursday evening, May 10, 2012 Adam Mayes shot and killed himself after being discovered in a wooded area around 7 miles from his home in Alpine, Mississippi. Officials said he was ordered to surrender, but pulled a gun on himself shooting himself with a wound to the head. The two young girls were found alive and taken to safety where they were fed and cared for.
