CELEBRATION CEREMONY BEGINS THE SUMMER GAMES

The day has arrived that London will celebrate the beginning of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. With hundreds of thousands attending to see and observe the representation of their countries the day is set up with athletes around the world. London has planned to host the at the Olympic Stadium on Marshgate Lane in the Stradford District of Lower Lea Valley. The day’s celebration will include many highlights and speculation of many pre-game thrills.

CABBIES BANNED FROM PROTEST:

London taxi drivers have been banned by the police from protesting over their usage of the Olympic traffic lanes. The group had planned to demonstrate at Hyde Park Corner but have been banned from protesting on the Olympic Route from the hours 4:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. A cabbie spokesperson said that the wanted to work with so that the protest would not interfere with London’s life. In addition, to the cabbies wanting to protest, many civilians are grumpy over the closing of lanes which ties up traffics for hours with long lines of automobiles and slow traffic.

MITT ANGERED THE BRITS!

GOP Candidate Mitt Romney’s visit to London left the Brits a bit angered over statements and comments made of London hosting the 2012 Summer Games. One of his statements from an interview quoted Romney as indicating he had reservations as the whether London was “ready” for the games calling some aspects “disconcerting” from a television interview with NBC’s Brian Williams on Wednesday, July 25, 2012. In addition, Romney didn’t seem to make a pleasing impression with Prime Minister David Cameron as well. The Mayor of London also criticized Romney and indicated that London is ready to be a wonderful host and is ready to be one of it’s best for the games.

LONDON SUMMER AND SMOG

The last several days of sunshine has posted a intensified impact of pollutants such as ground level ozone and nitrogen oxides. Athletes completing in the training and members of the Olympic torch relay have warned of the high level of pollution in the UK capital on Thursday. Smog warnings followed the sunshine days has intensified the impact of pollutants along with traffic fumes. The warnings were issued by The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on Wednesday, July 25 and Thursday, July 26, 2012. Warnings of the high smog will continue for at least 24 hours. Athletes are thought to be especially vulnerable to the effects of ground level ozone and other air pollutants because their breathing in very high volumes of air.
