In Beijing, China's state-run media ramped up its condemnation of the US over territorial disputes in the South China Sea, with the country's top newspaper going so far as to tell Washington to "shut up" on the subject.
The tirade was in reaction to America's State Department, which on Friday said it was closely monitoring increased tensions in the South China Sea and was concerned over China's setting up of a military garrison for the area.
