Women don't enter the church after having babies until after the 40th day. The list goes on and on. They don't eat pork it considered unclean. What else? There are so many!
I asked him about these customs early in our marriage and he said that they follow Jewish tradition (but he obviously doesn't realize the origin of why they do what they do). It's our culture is what most would say to you if you ask why they celebrate or do certain things.
