Clint Eastwood's empty-chair speech at the Republican National Convention didn't convince one of his own biggest fans.
Francesca Eastwood, the Oscar-winning director's daughter, told TMZ that she won't be pulling the lever for Mitt Romney next month.
“I happen to not be voting for the same man. But I love that he stands up for what he believes in,” she said of her dad as she left the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood.
Clint Eastwood infamously used his prime speaking slot on the final night of the GOP convention to give a rambling rant to an empty chair.
The Hollywood legend later dismissed criticism of the performance, which was widely considered an unnecessary distraction from Romney’s own speech.
“If somebody's dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something, they're gonna have to take what they get," Eastwood said in an interview with Extra.
“People loved it or hated it and that’s fine,” he added. “That’s what it was supposed to be.”
Clint Eastwood gave a 12-minute rant to an empty chair during his address to the Republican National Convention in August.
President Obama, meanwhile, said he was unfazed by Eastwood's act.
“He is a great actor, and an even better director,” Obama told USA Today after the convention. “I think the last few movies that he’s made have been terrific.”
