If you compare the Who's online Class: field with the member profile data you will see other members who have not entered education data yet they are still shown with a Class: xxxx year. But even more interesting, Siebra is online with Class: 2001, yet her profile shows Graduating Class: 1999.

So the problem is with the Who's online data, not James's profile. Who's online is supplying Class: data where none exists, as well as sometimes an incorrect date even where it does exist.

Perhaps this feature (Who's online) was designed around HBCU Connect, with the assumption that members there would all have a "Class Of" field.

Knowing software as I do, this is a software bug of the type where the software fails to correctly handle an "exception" case. The problem is on the Connect Platform side.

So on further review, I am going to guess that when Who's online is generated, when a Class date is not found in a given member's profile, the Class date of the previous member in the list is used. Again, a common type of software bug.

Go ahead and forward this info to Reginald, but be aware that sometimes software bugs will not be fixed if they are considered less important relative to other items of higher priority. Again, from my experience as a software engineer who had to deal with very lengthy lists of software bugs which were prioritized by severity.

I just checked the list again and James is at the top of the list and has no Class date. Nor does the bogus member listed following him. The third member listed (Earl) is the first with a valid Class date.

There are other fields in Who's online that are incorrect as well. In fact, there is a ton of incorrect data in Who's online. I would not rely on it at all, only the authentic information in a member's profile.
