Maru Brief Biography:
Who? Maru, Kahwe and Wolf Cub make up Transmission Collective, a trio of young producers from Leeds with a like-minded approach to forward thinking house music. Having founded a music blog together and released music individually, they launched their own label Transmission Audio Recordings earlier this year, in order to showcase both their individual and collaborative productions.
What? Alpina is a slick piece of deep, dance floor friendly house music, effortlessly blending dreamy vocal snippets with punchy percussion and some killer low end to create an absolute bomb.
Why? The second release on Transmission Audio Recordings, the Porta Alpina EP features two original tracks from Maru, along with remixes from Kahwe and Wolf Cub. Their sound has seen them pick up support from the likes of Ben Westbeech, James Zabiela, Synkro, Homework, Ben Pearce, Andre Lodemann, XXXY, Jozif, Hackman, Citizen, Bondax and Voyeur to name a few.
Where? Transmission Collective are launching their London residency at Catch in Shoreditch on Friday 14th December, with a special 6 hour set. It's free entry all night, 9pm-4am.
