Day 12 of December
There’s a new bill in Congress regarding having a national holiday called what else?.. but Elvis Presley Day. The bill sits and waits approval and will be honored if passed the holiday will be celebrated on January 8th. Local Memphians have mixed emotions about national holiday some feel it’s not necessary, while others consider it a great idea. The idea was generated in November 2012 from about a dozen congressmen from North Carolina who loves Elvis and would like to honor his music day with a national observance. Since then congressmen from Mississippi, Florida, and Texas are pushing the resolution to have the bill passed.
Yo! Ho! Ho!
It’s Christmas you know!…Okay, I made that song up…
Christmas Carol’s singing might be like this favorite winter wonderland..
LATER ON WE'LL CONSPIRE …
AS WE DREAD…THE AWESOME
FIRE!
Joiner, AR
December
11th Day
The small community town of Joiner, Arkansas experienced a dreadful fire which destroyed a local historic church and part of their automatic laundry mat. Residents of the town said it was the worst fire they’d ever experienced. Since Joiner is a very small town this was almost half of the town. The local law enforcement sheriff said it was a very suspicious fire is “wondering” if it may have been caused by an arsonist. She also stated that it would take sometime to rebuild because the town’s once was booming is facing many job and unemployment woes. This fire has a brought an hardship on the small town's budget. It may be sometime before fire damages are accessed and repaired.
Sing people!…walking in a winter wonderland….
Awww! Come now, we’ll try again… Christmas Carol’s has this song & you should know it…
Ready…
GOD REST YE MERRY GENTLEMEN
LET NOTHING STOP OUR PAY!
WE WANT TO GET OUR SALARIES
OR; WE’LL DO WHAT WE SAY!
Memphis, TN
December 2012
11th Day
A class action law suit was filed against clothing retail stores City G.E.A.R. At least 20 managers and assistant managers are suing for unpaid wages and overtime. The managers are claiming in the law suit that City G.E.A.R. has withheld their salaries as promised. In contracts the managers were hired with the understanding of being paid a set salary with overtime if time exceeds over 45 hours a week or, they would be paid an hourly wage by the time they worked. However, they have not received payment as promised for either overtime or time worked by hourly pay. City G.E.A.R. positions that it has paid them. However, the judge will decided if they’ll be bound to pay one way or another with an agreement to set manager’s salaries, or pay the hourly wage. They can’t have it both ways.
Gentlemen please don’t be Scrooges…It’s Christmas!
It’s the song that good for an ending…
Christmas Carol’s singing…
HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS..
