Are you willing to submit to a background check and wait two weeks before obtaining the gun? YES You can purchase the gun through a licensed dealer after a background check and a two-week waiting period. If you already have a permit for a handgun or for hunting, you don’t have to wait two weeks. If your background check shows that you have committed a felony or have been committed to a mental institution, among other things, you will be denied the purchase. NO You can purchase the gun through a private seller, who is not required to run a background check unless they sell it to you at a gun show. If the seller knows that you are ineligible to possess the gun (because you have committed a felony or have been committed to a mental institution, for example), they will be liable for any injury or death resulting from the sale. Are you willing to give the state a record of the sale? YES If you purchase the gun from a licensed dealer, they will send one copy of the receipt to the state Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection and one to local law enforcement. NO You can purchase the gun from a private seller, who is not required to retain records like licensed dealers are. You can make this purchase at a gun show or at any other location. Do you want to purchase the gun online? YES You can buy online from a licensed dealer, who will ship the gun to a dealer in your area, where the paperwork and background check will be processed. If you buy online from a private seller in another state, they will have to send the gun to your local dealer for you to follow the same process. If you buy online from a private seller within Connecticut, you can purchase the gun without a background check, and the seller will not have to retain records. Online marketplaces like Armslist connect buyers and sellers. NO You can purchase this gun from both private sellers and licensed dealers. How many rounds of ammunition would you like to buy? Connecticut does not restrict ammunition sales or possession. Federal law prohibits licensed dealers (but not private sellers) from selling ammunition to any person under 18. This rifle can be outfitted with magazines that can hold up to 100 rounds.T

they are suggesting someone ie/a teacher in the school be trained to shoot ,,take firing lessons and have the weapon lock up in a safe place even 2 or 3 teachers ,,,

Dianne Feinstein said she would introduce an updated version of her 1994 assault weapons ban, which Congress allowed to expire in 2004, on the first day of the new session. President Obama has said he favors such a ban. Congressional opponents of gun control have been unusually silent, perhaps recognizing that putting a higher priority on the desire of collectors to possess military-style weapons than on the lives of children strikes most Americans as twisted.

they are getting ready for the underground ,Walmart sells out of assault rifles in five states: read this ....In the wake of the attack on Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, mega-retailer Walmart has sold out of its stock of assault rifles in five states, according to Bloomberg News.
The company said Wednesday it had no plans to stop selling semi-automatic assault rifles like the Bushmaster .223, which was used by the shooter to slaughter 20 school children on Friday.
Bloomberg noted that Pennsylvania, Kansas and Alabama were among the states where Walmart has sold out. The big box retailer reportedly took a photo and description of the Patrolman’s Carbine M4A3, made by Bushmaster, off its website following the massacre but continued to sell the assault weapon in its stores.

Looking away from the angry white men clinging to their guns while imagining the day they get to shoot the gangs of imaginary enemies they suspect will be banging down their door any day, and towards the people who profit handsomely off exploiting this paranoia has a number of benefits to it. Cerebus Capital Management Group is selling off any ownership they have in the firearms business. This choice is a big deal:
Cerberus became a key member of the gun industry in 2006 when it purchased Bushmaster Firearms from its then-owner Richard Dyke in 2006. It subsequently founded the firearms manufacturer holding company Freedom Group and acquired several other notable gun brands, including Remington Arms and Marlin.
In just two short years following the purchase of Bushmaster, Cerberus had become the nation’s largest firearms and ammunition distributor, selling over half of all semiautomatic rifles.

ight now, gun lovers believe, incorrectly, that their interests don’t diverge from the people who make and sell them their guns. But that’s not exactly true. After all, the gun industry treats them like gullible idiots who have deep fears of not being manly enough, and they tell they can assuage those fears by buying more guns. This creates interesting conflicts that aren’t currently perceived as conflicts, but could be. For instance, as I noted at XX Factor yesterday, a lot of gun nuts are rushing to downplay the power of the AR-15 that Adam Lanza used in the murders, because they don’t want to see it regulated. But the manufacturers depend on the image of that gun and many like it as badass killing machines that make your **** 15 inches long in order to sell them. There’s contradictions there, and we can create chaos and drive wedges by pointing that out.
But the only way to do that is to start talking more about the manufacturers and less about gun owners themselves. Or, we should start looking at gun owners as marks, targeted by a sleazy and exploitative industry that doesn’t care if their products kill their own damn customers, as long as you keep buying. Everyone is desperate to change this conversation. This is how we do it.

10 USC § 311 - Militia: composition and classes
(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are—
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.
