Hey Mr. Postman! Is there a Saturday Letter?
The United States Postal services has decided that finally they will not be making any mail pick up or deliveries on Saturday beginning in August 2013. It’s part of the program to help save the national operation office of the United States mail delivery. It’s a major cut, but officials insist will save at costs as the mail delivery service is having such financial troubles and woes remaining above vanishing away. Just recently, postage stamp prices were driven up one more cent and now the Saturday mail delivery will soon cease. Before this the branch offices of many post locations were closed in major and small cities and towns across the nation. The postage service has been engaging in troubled times due to more or less persons using their services. The internet and e-mail and cell phone messages as well as paying bills on-line instead of mailing them has hurt the postal delivery gravely.
Postmaster General Patrick R. Donahoe stated “Our financial condition is urgent.” The plan which is scheduled to take effect in August has Congress voting in agreement it’s a step in the right direction. The Postal Service has suffered in $15.9 billion loss in the past budget year. The new cut of Saturday services is expected to save $2 billion dollars annually. The delivery will still include packages, but letters and magazines will have to go to Monday through Friday. Many feel the change will need to happen and it’s more than likely most Americans would rather have a day letter short than no postal service at all.
What do think about that folks?
No more Saturday delivery of a
