FLOODING MISSISSIPPI RIVER OVERTAKE TOWNS AND CITIES WITH MUDDY WATERS (454 hits)

YOUR NATIONAL NEWS
APRIL 2013
DAY 22
Illinois

Troubled waters!

Flooding of the Muddy Mississippi has towns and cities looking at its brown waters flowing over at a whopping overflow. The areas of Quad cities in Illinois including St. Louis are way over flood stages. Other flood alert places include cities in Iowa, Missouri and portions of Louisiana. Floods are being caused by rainstorms and snowstorms from last week's weather conditions. At least 134 barges were seen floating aloft-- and at least one death of man was caused when he drown in a floating car carried away by the flood's current. Officials are urging caution for land dwellers and some evacuations were prompted in many river towns and cities. The river is expected to crest, but since there may be a forecast of more rains it may enhance exsiting flooding conditions.

Erma you can pass by it in a quick zip! But you won't miss the arch!

It's a fantastic view! The river may continue to rise there as more meltdown from snows and rains are forecasted....

"Floods are being caused by rainstorms and snowstorms from last week's weather conditions."

Too, bad we don't have floating dams to secure all that water for times of drought.

@Jen ...that was deep thinking Girl!..Too bad though no one has invented such an apparatus yet LOL!

@ Irma: St. Louis is a very lovely city, I've once visited it, but have passed it by several times. Reminds me much of Memphis in some ways. Floods follow the with the Mighty Mississippi. Maybe one day you'll come back to a look see? If so, stop by in Memphis so we can have lunch!
