CHRIS BROWN CURBSIDE ART DRAWS NEGATIVE OPINIONS (414 hits)

Neighbors are upset at Chris Brown's artwork on his curbside by his home. Mainly, they say the art is scary to little children in the neighborhood. Brown has received complaints about his artwork as neighbors filed a formal complaint with L.A. city code officials. Taking action the city code has asked Brown to remove the murals for reasons of non compliance to and reported his mural because of excessive signage. In addition, Brown may be also be subjected to pay a fine of $379.00 Brown has contacted his legal team to fight the complaints saying that removal of his mural may be in violations of his right to speak. However, delaying the removal may boost his fine substantially. Brown, along with his team of attorneys plan to fight the city to allow the murals to remain.

I sure hope he wins. That's not scary, there are far scarier things in kid's cartoons these days. It's the adults don't like it then they use their kids for cover. What a shame.

You know I don't see them as scary... have bright colors and remind me of Pac Man! You're right some cartoons on TV are really more in tune with the gory and frightening-- and that can leave a little one afraid to go to sleep at night. Brown just may win to have his murals stay!

Busy though; getting ready for a performance on June 01. Steve, I've had several offers for my ArtWorks! & I have several offers from new buyers and will feature some works at my program in June.

@Irma good points...I've seen public murals that cities highly promote. The first amendment appears to be the first law that often bendable under certain circumstances...like what is art and what is free expression or both.
