The Memphis International Airport will knock on a closing door as the airline giant Delta will be closing it's hub. Recently closing has already began as Delta will shut up doors for good. The airline is presently reducing flights, and starting layoff as it approaches its end to being in Memphis. Making room for possibly smaller airways to come right in offering local flights at smaller rate fees. Delta Airlines however, will be around one more year.
That's a airline...and people on the airways are the people that you meet each day...

ELECTION TUESDAY CHANGED IT FACE
WITH A NEW MAYOR TO SOON TAKE PLACE

Southaven, Mississippi voters turned out moderately to elect it's new Mayor on June o4, 2013. The 16 year veteran and now former Mayor Greg Davis was defeated at the polls. Davis has been in and out of the city's budget, that is under the microscope as spending the city of Southaven's money on elaborate travel and eating out at fancy restaurants to foot the bills. Although Davis paid back some of the money, he's still being audited by the city in several hearings. Now the new face in the Mayor's seat is winner Damien Musselwhite. He will take over the Mayor's seat on July 01, 2013. Davis said he has other potential offers for employment.
That's a mayor! Well, we won't go into what a mayor does...but we know he has access to the city's budget and financial workings...

Neighboring subdivision of Cordova, Tennessee is requesting it's separation and de-annexation from the City of Memphis. Residents and government officials there are seeking ways they can become it's on city. However, that's not going to be so easy to do since Cordova decision to de-annex will have to be the decision of the Memphis City Government Council. It's not likely they would approve it. However, they are wanting to separate from the ruling of Memphis City's Government and leadership.

Fear gripped a neighborhood apartment building for at least seven hours, and neighbors did nothing to assist a potential scene of domestic violence. The alleged attacker was said to have beat, kicked and doused lighter fluid on his girlfriend at her apartment for over seven hours. Neighbors said they were afraid to call for police because the suspect had a gun. However, one woman said she did witness the woman being tossed around and slammed into the door as she was frantically trying to get-away. The battered woman said her ex-boy friend tortured her for over seven hours. Finally, after reporting to the hospital, she called police and had him arrested with assault charges. The alleged suspect was arrested and was placed under .5 million dollar bond for assault and kidnapping. The woman suffered a few bruises and a twisted ankle and showed liquid burns on her shoulders from the lighter fluid.
Come on neighbors...Come on people now ! Everybody gets together and try to love one another..

At least some Memphis motorists are happy with glee after hearing news that the emission test stations will be closing it's doors for at least two years. Recent news accounts that the emission stations are very costly to the city's budget, The Mayor Wharton tried passing it on over to it's Shelby County's Mayor Lutrell, but he didn't want it either, so he tried passing it over to the State of Tennessee Government, which said no and passed it back to the Shelby County's Mayor who then sent it back to the seat of the Memphis Mayor Wharton. So after all that emission send out, the Mayor along with the City Council decided to pass an ordinance to close the automobile emission stations for at least two years. The City's budget would save millions in costs by closing the stations. The ordinance is said to become effective July 01, 2013.
Many in the neighborhood will be glad, because so often Memphians often fail emission testing, and suffer costly repairs.
"So now old Nellie Belle can smoke up the air!" "Cough! Cough!" Two years at least is a enough time to pollute the air real nice like!
We'll see this neighbor coming with a smoke tail for sho!

Just days after the Grizzlies lost their win of the Championship game leading to the final NBA four, their coach had some un-neighborly news. The coach caught the pink slip. Head Lead Coach of the Grizzlies Lionel Hollins was pronounced as fired. Memphis fans were totally shocked with finding the coach was released after working so steadily to leading the Grizzlies team so close to victory. However, many well wishers had nothing but neighborly love speaking well of Coach Hollins commitment to Memphis neighborhoods and group services. Hollins never blinked and has since had interviews with the L.A. Clippers and a future interview with the Denver Nuggets teams. So far, there appears to be a job plan in his future endeavors.
Shut the Door!
Oh...the coach is a person in the neighborhood...in the neighborhood...he's in the neighborhood. This coach may be leaving though...But another one we will meet as we are walking down the street each day!
