As we can SEE in front of our eyes, Democracy is NOT accepted by 'Democratic'--exColonial Powers in Islaamic Societies(Algeria, Palestine and Egypt)

AND YES it is the POLICY of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to NOT accept politics which has a GENESIS in Europe/America........

sweetIRMA,

what is a blog?

A blog (a contraction of the words web log) is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web; A majority are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments. Many blogs provide commentary on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries; others function more as online brand advertising of a particular individual or company.

A blog is NOT your personal point, just to MAKE someone BELIEVE you are correct........and your blogs --- in my opinion --- are either gossip or FALSE......

Since it is on WWWEB --- and BIA, I have an obligation to EDUCATE, the uneducated and stop the oldeStereotypes...

and this BLOG on a 'saudiPrince' is either FALSE, a LIE or just cartoonish nonsense.......

and YES The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is NOT just Wonderful because of Meccah and Medina and 100% Believers of AlQur'aan and the Sunnah of Mohamed(saw)----but it is Modern and the Most Beautiful and worked Country on Earth...oil revenue can by the BEST.....

a footnote on RT(Russian)

after ww1, the communists and then Stalin COMMITTED the LARGEST Genocide against the MUSLIMS the world ever RECORDED. Today if you go to The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia YOU will find MANY Muslim Descendants of Russia in High Offices of Leadership

I always wondered where the word blog came from. Back in the day we called them bulletin boards. There may have bee falseness in the interview, but the blog itself can't be false. And Robert, speaking of false, is it really true that you don't watch videos because you worry about getting hacked? And how can you say true of false when you haven't watched the interview? Or did you?

And speaking of spellcheck, mine automatically supplies what it thinks is correct, hence bee instead of been, and of instead of or.

Steve Williams

I do not like to HEAR a story-Video; as NSA an others since 1971 --- I am always hacked and heard

----I enjoy READING and RESEARCHING.....so that I can be Informed and Educated before I write...I like the blog concept for SOME....

What your blag WRITES, is sufficient for me to get the idea....

and --- it didn't take stevieWonder, or the Russians to tell me that The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not euroDemocracy ......

AlQur'aan and the Sunnah of Mohamed(saw) have for 1434+ years given the Believer AsShuuraa(Consensus of Community)

they and MANY do not need euroDemocracy --- INCLUDING the ShiaMinority

In Fact the ShiaMinority also ENJOYS
------Outstanding Infrastructure living--urban or rural
------Free Education
------Free Medical
------Nearly CRIME free communities

AND

--- I would POSTULATE, that the average Shia Family in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is worth 2-5 MILLION usaDOLLARS.......
--- and could EASILY move if they were not HAPPY

footnote to the gossipy, untruth blaggette
---- When I or any person asked to join BIA, we PROMISED to follow the RULES and REGULATIONS of BIA

---- I love to follow Rules, Laws and Regulations --- I am civilized, am respectful and back my word.......

others can break the Rules, Laws and Regulations and BIA understands that many STILL maintain oldeNegroid Tendencies......

I have had an opportunity for the past 50 years to live almost a year there.......

my BEST friends are Saudi and again The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for me---IS MARVELOUS

Robert,

Do you think the Greatest USA President Ever, Barack Hussein Obama, will ever compel Saudi Arabia, as Egypt, Libya, Syria, to embrace Democracy?

Saudi Arabia (i/ˌsaʊdi əˈreɪbi.ə/ or i/ˌsɔːdiː əˈreɪbi.ə/; Arabic: السعودية‎ as-Su‘ūdiyyah or as-Sa‘ūdiyyah), officially known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Arabic: المملكة العربية السعودية‎ al-Mamlakah al-‘Arabiyyah as-Su‘ūdiyyah, Arabic pronunciation (help·info)), is the largest Arab state in Western Asia by land area (approximately 2,250,000 km2 (870,000 sq mi), constituting the bulk of the Arabian Peninsula) and the second-largest in the Arab world (after Algeria). It is bordered by Jordan and Iraq to the north, Kuwait to the northeast, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates to the east, Oman to the southeast, Yemen in the south, the Red Sea to the west and Persian Gulf to the east. Its population is estimated to consist of 16 million citizens and an additional 9 million registered foreign expatriates and 2 million illegal immigrants.[10]

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was founded by Abdul-Aziz bin Saud (known for most of his career as Ibn Saud) in 1932, although the conquests which eventually led to the creation of the Kingdom began in 1902 when he captured Riyadh, the ancestral home of his family, the House of Saud, referred to in Arabic as Al Saud. The Saudi Arabian government has been an absolute monarchy since its inception. It describes itself as being Islamic and is highly influenced by Wahhabism.[11] Saudi Arabia is the birthplace of Islam and the kingdom is sometimes called "the Land of the Two Holy Mosques" in reference to Al-Masjid al-Haram (in Mecca), and Al-Masjid al-Nabawi (in Medina), the two holiest places in Islam.

Saudi Arabia has the world's largest oil reserves, which are concentrated largely in the Eastern Province.[12][13] Oil accounts for more than 95% of exports and 70% of government revenue, although the share of the non-oil economy has been growing recently. This has facilitated the transformation of an underdeveloped desert kingdom into one of the world's wealthiest nations. Vast oil revenues have permitted rapid modernisation, such as the creation of a welfare state.[14] It has also the world's sixth largest natural gas reserves. Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world which bans women from driving.[15]

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - Saudi women can't drive cars, but they can sell them. Potential buyers can go to an all-women showroom where, for the first time, other women will help them choose a car and answer questions about horsepower, carburetors and other automotive features.

Robert,

As you know, a Wikipedia article starts with a summary, followed by a table of contents, followed by the body of the article. I posted only the summary, which just happened to end on the note about women drivers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudi_Arabia

I also know Wikipedia can be something of a shortcut, historically speaking, but I doubt they would have missed something like European colonization. I did read this though:

In the 16th century, the Ottomans added the Red Sea and Persian Gulf coast (the Hejaz, Asir and Al-Hasa) to the Empire and claimed suzerainty over the interior. One reason was to thwart Portuguese attempts to attack the Red Sea (hence the Hejaz) and the Indian Ocean.[26] Ottoman degree of control over these lands varied over the next four centuries with the fluctuating strength or weakness of the Empire's central authority.[27][28] The emergence of what was to become the Saudi royal family, known as the Al Saud, began in Nejd in central Arabia in 1744, when Muhammad bin Saud, founder of the dynasty, joined forces with the religious leader Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab,[29] founder of the Wahhabi movement, a strict puritanical form of Sunni Islam.[30] This alliance formed in the 18th century provided the ideological impetus to Saudi expansion and remains the basis of Saudi Arabian dynastic rule today.[31] The first "Saudi state" established in 1744 in the area around Riyadh, rapidly expanded and briefly controlled most of the present-day territory of Saudi Arabia,[32] but was destroyed by 1818 by the Ottoman viceroy of Egypt, Mohammed Ali Pasha.[33] A much smaller second "Saudi state", located mainly in Nejd, was established in 1824. Throughout the rest of the 19th century, the Al Saud contested control of the interior of what was to become Saudi Arabia with another Arabian ruling family, the Al Rashid. By 1891, the Al Rashid were victorious and the Al Saud were driven into exile in Kuwait.[24]

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Ottoman Empire continued to control or have a suzerainty over most of the peninsula. Subject to this suzerainty, Arabia was ruled by a patchwork of tribal rulers,[34][35] with the Sharif of Mecca having pre-eminence and ruling the Hejaz.[36] In 1902, Ibn Saud took control of Riyadh in Nejd and brought the Al Saud back to Nejd.[24] Ibn Saud gained the support of the Ikhwan, a tribal army inspired by Wahhabism and led by Sultan ibn Bijad and Faisal Al-Dawish, and which had grown quickly after its foundation in 1912.[37] With the aid of the Ikhwan, Ibn Saud captured Hasa from the Ottomans in 1913.

In 1916, with the encouragement and support of Britain (which was fighting the Ottomans in World War I), the Sharif of Mecca, Hussein bin Ali, led a pan-Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire to create a united Arab state.[38] Although the Arab Revolt of 1916 to 1918 failed in its objective, the Allied victory in World War I resulted in the end of Ottoman suzerainty and control in Arabia.[39]

Ibn Saud avoided involvement in the Arab Revolt, and instead continued his struggle with the Al Rashid. Following the latter's final defeat, he took the title Sultan of Nejd in 1921. With the help of the Ikhwan, the Hejaz was conquered in 1924-25 and on 10 January 1926, Ibn Saud declared himself King of the Hejaz.[40] A year later, he added the title of King of Nejd.[24]

After the conquest of the Hejaz, the Ikhwan leadership's objective switched to expansion of the Wahhabist realm into the British protectorates of Transjordan, Iraq and Kuwait, and began raiding those territories. This met with Ibn Saud's opposition, as he recognized the danger of a direct conflict with the British. At the same time, the Ikhwan became disenchanted with Ibn Saud's domestic policies which appeared to favor modernization and the increase in the number of non-Muslim foreigners in the country. As a result, they turned against Ibn Saud and, after a two-year struggle, were defeated in 1930 at the Battle of Sabilla, where their leaders were massacred.[41] In 1932 the two kingdoms of the Hejaz and Nejd were united as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.[24]

In any event, it sounds like a charming place.

YOU WRITE: "but I doubt they would have missed something like European colonization. I did read this though:"

???????????

the Uthman Empire was a Muslim Empire and the British, French - EUROS at euroColonist WW1

------- LIED to Sharif of Mecca, Hussein bin Ali, that if his HASHIMITE helped them they could have their own nation from Turkey to Iran; to the Nejd Desert.

of course The Famous Lawrence of Arabia highlights this DARK period of Colonial Division.......

Syria and Lebanon became FRENCH, Palestine became British,

and
------the TRANSJORDAN(jordanIraq) became the Hashimite Desert Kingdom --- still ruled by a Hashimite today
------and the RICH, Ports of Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and the Emirates were BRITISH......

did you read COLONIALISM in that History?

in 2013-----The nonCOLONIZED Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the Most Advanced and Modern nation on Earth.......

--------------The Colonized Hashimite Desert and Palestine is now constant war and confusion..........thanks to EUROS and viralDNA

AlQur'aan and the Sunnah of Mohamed(saw) tell the Believer that GREED is a sin of Shaitan.......

And that Business that is CLEAN of Prohibited Sins is OK
........The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is selling a naturalProduct for the Rewards that Allaah ----- cash money...........

So The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia should not be written about in the manner you did above-----

Greed is the common factor. In the USA oil business is greedy, the consumers of oil are greedy. Saudi Arabia is greedy for profit, just like the USA will protect their "interests". Clean energy, carbon pollution, climate change, all just diversions from the truth, greed.
