I think of Archbishop Desmond Tutu and I suppose he being also a South African is why he won the prize for his true humanitarian efforts to free S.A. from Apartheid.

I don't know, but it seems that the standards for Nobel Laureate have been lowered. It's like anyone can be nominated now a days.
