DAY 27
January 2014
Alaska
A huge avalanche has brought an Alaska city to a shut down. The heavy drop blocked the only road leading into and or out of the city located near the township of Valdez left some 4,100 citizens of the town trapped with no transportation in or out of the roadway. The avalanche was said to be caused by warming temperatures which called heavy snow and ice to close off the city's road for an indefinite amount of time. Many have be notified that barges will assist those who which to leave the area as attempts to remove the fallen snows is very risky and could lead to additional avalanches happening. People were urged to evacuate, but some reports said enough food, gas and supplies were in plenty if the clean-up would take longer than a week.
That's all folks..
"Avalanches are quite common in Alaska I'm sure."
