Does Massage Therapy Really Improve Blood Flow? (1668 hits)

Do you regularly incorporate massage therapy into your health and wellness regimen? Perhaps you’re one of the more than half of #Americans (including myself) who’d love to see massage therapy fully covered under your insurance plan.

Unfortunately, as a health and wellness expert, researcher, and clinical massage therapist I can tell you that insurance coverage is primarily driven by science. As such, if well-planned, fitting and ongoing research studies don’t substantiate the true value of massage therapy, insurance coverage will continue to elude us.

While the proposed therapeutic benefits of massage have been researched and studied for a wide array of health conditions (cancer, arthritis and chronic pain syndromes), for years one simple question has remained unanswered: Does massage therapy influence blood flow? Unbelievable but totally true!

Although massage therapy has long been speculated to enhance blood flow and improve circulation the exact "how" just hasn’t been established.
