Morning Steve:

It is the perfect time and I have planted a few for the spring. Earlier, I planted some daisies! I'm thinking of adding tulips too. It's getting cool, and I have to bring my fern inside soon. It's gotten so big this summer, twice it's size from last year. And Steve I have a pet tree! I call her "Michievious" I lost the label of her kind, but she is blooming purple blooms...She grows in all awkward directions. She is a beautiful potted pet.

What are you growing/planting?

My sister sells bulbs and I've been helping her with packing orders. As I was working yesterday I thought of you Miisrael. She's got just about any kind of tulip you could ask for, also doffodils, crocuses, irises, etc. I sort through the bulbs as I pack them to remove the bad ones, some of these are not really bad, just blemished and she keeps them for her own planting. What kind of tulips do you like? P.S. your pet tree sounds interesting. Is it a wisteria maybe?

Well my one of favorite are irises. I'd love some. If she fills orders I may be interested in purchasing some from her just because of you Steve. I will search the internet and get back to you and let you know about "M" if I find her I'll put up a photo of her. I'm late for a breakfast at Cracker Barrell so it'll be later this afternoon or tomorrow. See you later..."I'll be back."

I haven't planted any fall bulbs yet. I still have my vegetable garden that I tend to. I have corn, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, okra, and cucumbers in my backyard...I started growing them after the recession began...it's a small garden but I'm proud of the results so far.

I also have a tree that grows pears (I've never seen it bear any pears yet), and another that grows pomelos (which is a pear-shaped citrus fruit similar to grapefruit, but less bitter and easier to peel).

@Steve I couldn't find my exact species but this is the closest I could find to what my tree looks like. This species has 49 varieties, I think it may be one I have. It's call a Jacranda. It's still small because I have it a large pot . I'll have keep it pruned because it's a pet. Ha!

Siebra, maybe your tree is young? I think they take a few years before bearing fruit. I'm looking forward to planting a garden next spring now that I have some property to put one on. I haven't had room for a garden for about 25 years and I'm really looking forward to it. Maybe I'll plant some fruit trees too since I just cut a bunch of old trees down and need something to fill all the open space. Apple trees do well here.

I was told that pears usually take about 4 years to develop on trees. I'm doing some research on the fruit cocktail tree. The fruit cocktail tree is a tree that can bear up to 6 different fruits. Walmart sells them in my area. There are actually 2 types of Fruit Cocktail Trees, one that bears citurs fruits, and another type which produces peaches, plums, apricots, pears, bananas, and apples.

I can understand all of them except the banana. I wouldn't have guessed they could graft a banana like that. Or maybe the use the banana rootstock and graft the other ones. Interesting.
