It was five, four, three, two, one and then moments later.. ....boom! The rocket launch at Wallops Island, Virginia was blown into bits! There on board of this special launch was supplies to be sent the the manned space station in orbit. These supplies however, will not be delivered. According to many news sources the rocket had food, clothing, and tools as well as equipment for observation of space activities. No one was injured in the explosion as the fire lit up the evening sky. The main injury was it's failure. Investigations will take place at dawn on October 29,2014 as the fire was allowed to burn off. As onlookers gawked in surprise many recorded the incident unfolding right before their eyes. Causes of it's it explosion isn't yet clear as research of the site is pending. However, there is speculation it was due to Russian rockect boosters that failed. This is the first launch by Oribital Scieces for NASA supplies, however other launches by other companies are scheduled for the near future. Total cost of this project is 200 million dollars as well and it is a costly disappointment to NASA's goal --but not necessary a deterent.
